An enriching and strategic partnership: Ashoka
This project has partnered with the organization Ashoka (www.ashoka.org) and closely with Ashoka Peru (peru.ashoka.org). The students will be working closely with 6 distinct projects of the network of Social Entrepreneurs that make up the vast network of Ashoka. Each of these are unique, innovative projects that are recognized as leaders in their fields. The students will learn from these Ashoka “Fellows” of their projects and efforts as well as contribute their own knowledge and cultural experiences.
Making a difference throughout Peru
The projects and organizations the students will be visiting/working with span across Peru and include the areas of: Lima, Chincha, Ica, Huaraz, Huancayo, Arequipa, and Cuzco.
Unique and innovative projects
These projects include educational micro-credits, sports to keep kids off the streets, reforestation and biodiversity awareness among children, progressive and environmentally conscious pedagogy, community and tradition fortalization and systematization, and rehabilitation of girls from battered homes.
