Yesterday late afternoon, we arrived in Lima and were greeted by Enriquez. We got to our hotel and got ready to eat dinner and go out. After dinner, we went to a local bar and had some drinks. Later we ended up going to a salsa club down the street and watched amazing dancers dance the night away. We didn´t want to dance because we were afraid we would be super embarrased compared to the graceful professionals. We then headed home for a good nights rest.
Today was our first day in Lima. We had a nice little walk along the beach to the Ashoka office, the organization where all of our volunteer programs are from. We then went to a local restaurant close by and ate some amazing Peruvian food. After we wandered through the city and explored the many shops in the town. Everything was just gorgeous and the people were super nice. We came back to take a nap from our exhausting day and woke up to eat dinner and get ready for our night adventure. Now we are headed to the same salsa club, hopefully this time we will all dance.

Kimberly,
Hi hope everything is going well. Went to Auntie Michi’s Memorial service today and saw a lot of people we haven’t seen in many years. Sounds like your off to a good start. I heard from a few friends that the hike to Machu Picchu is a pretty strenous trip but worth it. Have fun and be careful.

Hi Kimberly,
Just returned last night from a Travel Medicine and Global Health conference in Seattle. It was interesting and informative, and made me wonder if I was being a neglectful health professional/parent by letting you go to Latin America without much pre-travel preparation to make sure you’re healthy and safe! (Can’t wait to show you the photos of the soil transmitted worms that can inhabit humans – yuck!)
I’m looking forward to reading the blogs to learn all about your adventures!
Love, Mom
We all went to Red Crane for Mothers day, Auntie, Uncle Ed Dale, Diane and Ryan, Jim, Jean and Jenna, Uncle Art, Mom and me. Had a nice dinner as usual. Royce said he sent you an e-mail to work at the restaurant when you get home so if you have a chance send him a note if you are still interested. I read all the blog postings it sure looks like everyone is having a good time. I hope you write more often. Can’t wait until you get home and tell us about your trip. Talk to you soon.
Love Dad
